April is nationally recognized as may things, the deadline for our taxes, a prime time for showers that will hopefully result in flowers, Volunteer Appreciation(more on that later!), and Second Chance Month. This special time asks us to recommit to making reentry a priority. Year after year, the data shows that having thoughtful and evidence-based policy that addresses reentry and recidivism challenges supports justice-involved individuals in essential ways that keeps families together and communities safer. The National Reentry Resource Center has put together lots of insightful information on ways to learn more about this ongoing process of integrating effective policy into our communities. Want to share your reentry story with a wider audience? Reach out to Hannah Duffy at hduffy@oarnova.org for more information on speaking to our supporters. |
